Pigeonhole cover

Though the New Fast Automatic Daffodils gained initial attention thanks to the explosion of the Madchester scene as such at the turn of the 1990s, they very much harkened back to the city’s sparer style of post-punk/dance-funk from a decade earlier, much more A Certain Ratio than Happy Mondays. Pigeonhole’s crisp edge, accentuated by both a drummer and a percussionist and the forceful, often lyrically striking declamations by lead vocalist Andy Spearpoint, lent songs like the sleek punch of “Big” and the building tension of “Partial” a gripping atmosphere.
