What Does Anything Mean? Basically

Released

Aiming for an even richer sound on their second album, the Chameleons upped the ante considerably on What Does Anything Mean? Basically, a sweeping, dramatic collection of songs that found a deeply human connection while contemporaries like U2 and Simple Minds were dreaming of arenas. The almost magical way Reg Smithies and Dave Fielding’s guitars supported each other while Mark Burgess’s warm voice conveyed the sentiments of “Singing Rule Britannia,” “Intrigue in Tangiers,” “One Flesh” and “PS Goodbye” felt nearly unique.
