Ladies and Gentlemen… We Are Floating in Space

Spiritualized

1997
Dedicated

Whether or not Ladies And Gentlemen was really a breakup album — Jason Pierce said a number of songs were already written before his split with keyboardist Kate Radley — one thing it definitely was was a massive success, arguably the pinnacle of Spiritualized’s overall existence. With a slew of guest and session players and vocalists, Pierce’s songs range from the quietly contemplative (“Broken Heart”) to the surging (“Electricity,” “Come Together”) to the vast and beautiful (“Cool Waves”) and back again, creating a late 90s pinnacle of confessional psychedelia.
