Back when he had a lot to say artistically and had barely begun saying it all, Ye let loose on this sophomore album, largely co-produced by Jon Brion (who’d made such amazing music with Fiona Apple). Hits like “Gold Digger” (featuring Jamie Foxx, fresh off his Oscar-winning turn as Ray Charles) and “Diamonds from Sierra Leone” help push Late Registration into Ye’s top three albums ever.
