Do It (‘Til You’re Satisfied)
1974
Scepter Records
This is a simple, uncomplicated funk album consisting of all dance floor targeted material with not a single ballad in sight. Do Till You’re Satisfied’s songss are percussive, extended grooves made of overlapping bongo and conga rhythm tracks with flute and horn riffs on top and some fuzz guitar rocking out in the background. This is music that is all about groove and feel, it’s stretched out instrumental vamps and perfectly interlocking instruments, the vocals often simple refrains, sometimes stacked up, sometimes each vocalist taking a part à la The Temptations. Solid, pre-disco funk.
