Bardo Pond

1996
Matador

One of the most agog, majestic albums by a band that specializes in such a sound, Amanita found Bardo Pond making the case once again that they weren’t just one of America’s best psychedelic bands of the 1990s, but one of the best bands, period. Isobel Sollenberger’s mysterious, poetic delivery seemed like it both was carried by the band to new heights and also called them forward, huge and stately performances enveloping speakers and blowing minds with a casual grace.
