102.7 WBMX Chicago - Mid-80’s cover

This is not a back-to-back DJ set, where the DJs trade turns for one, two, three records apiece. It’s two DJ sets, back-to-back, recorded in the “mid-80’s,” per the SoundCloud page: the last nineteen minutes of Julian “Jumpin’” Perez followed by a near half-hour of Farley “Jackmaster” Funk. The differences are manifest: Perez finishes with some crash-bang freestyle, Farley comes in with gibbering 303, gospel organ, and one enthusiastic programmed snare, then drops in Rhythm Control’s “My House” a cappella, way fast, which he then makes into a varispeed dialogue with itself. The totality is non-fucking-stop.
