Blast First
After the Panasonic corporation forced them to change their name, Pan Sonic used that newly missing A as the title of their next album, which contains some of their warmest, most welcoming music. “Lomittain” pushes a deceptively simple electro hip-hop beat through dubby echo, gradually filling the room with more and more vibrations and mid-low frequencies until it’s like a sound bath. Even the tracks built around waves of static and electronic zaps, like “Ahdin,” are weirdly soothing, although there’s a particular pulsing sound they deploy that’ll make you think your speakers are about to start flapping.
