A Christmas Together

At the height of the popularity of The Muppet Show, an inspired one-off 1979 holiday special, in typical Muppet fashion as much about its own creation as anything else, featured the crew working with special guest John Denver. It was a fine combination of earnestness, humor and musical ability, and the resulting soundtrack album covered all the bases. Denver easily duets with and accompanies the familiar Muppet characters on standards, covers and originals, including Denver’s own “A Baby Just Like You” and a Dr. Teeth romp through “Little Saint Nick.”
