While Queen never recorded another formal soundtrack album beyond Flash Gordon, they did do a slew of songs for the 1985 time-travel heroic fantasy Highlander, which in both unchanged and revamped versions formed the bulk of their enjoyable 1986 release A Kind Of Magic. The Brian May-written heavy metal stomp of “Gimme the Prize (Kurgan’s Theme)” is the most explicit film tie-in, but two singles became part of the greater Queen canon: the arena rock anthem “One Vision” and the sweeping orchestrated ballad “Who Wants To Live Forever?”
