After the Night

A short couple of months after its early 2023 album After the Magic, Parannoul released a live album as a complement, After the Night. Recorded in January of that year and drawing on its entire catalog to that point, it’s notable for breaking a little of the mystery around the band (revealing its titular leader plays keyboards while otherwise backed by a quartet) as well as capturing a loud, appreciative audience. Their emogaze flow is just as stirring live as in studio, while they conclude with a striking surprise: a 46 minute long jam, “Into the Endless Night.”
