BCD-2 has the slightly higher BPM rates, so the average person will find BCD more “chill,” but that’s only part of the story. The slower tracks on BCD find a sweet spot that doesn’t really recall any other music, while BDC-2 sounds like weird techno. Some of these pieces seem to be nothing but echo and delay, the original signal long since swept out to sea. The Basic Channel sounds swept through rock and dance music—your favorite musician fucks with these records. We don’t even need to ask.
