Boiled Moon
Released
Yama Warashi, the project of Japanese-born, UK based singer and multi instrumentalist Yoshino Shigihara translates as “small childlike mountain spirit,” and there is something of that playful, whimsical energy running through second album Boiled Moon. Shigihara cites Japanese folk, African rhythms, and free jazz as inspirations, but the eight songs on here seem to pull on a much deeper well of influences, flowing seamlessly though cosmic pop and ethereal psychedelia. Through spacey electronic textures and blissed out atmospheres, Boiled Moon welcomes you into its magical universe.
