A compilation of the Japanese trio’s various “early days singles” per the subtitle, Bomb the Rocks makes the easy case that the 5.6.7.8’s belong in the same rarified realm as bands like Shonen Knife and Teengenerate, aiming each in their own ways to capture some essence of happily trashy, giddy and loud punk rock across generations. “Bomb the Twist” kicks off the crazy celebration just so but how can one resist other song titles like “My Boyfriend is an Alien” and “Motor Cycle Go-Go-Go“?
