Burning From the Inside

Released

The sessions for Burning From the Inside would prove to be a harbringer of the band’s initial demise, with Peter Murphy’s hospitalization for a stretch of that time leaving the remaining band members to do work on their own, with the resulting album featuring not one but two separate lead vocal turns from others, David J on the moody “Who Killed Mr. Moonlight?” and Daniel Ash on the intense “Slice of Life.” Murphy turns in great work himself, though, and songs like the intense dub groove of “She’s In Parties” and the haunted “Kingdom’s Coming” are standouts.
