Chaos for the Fly

Released

Walking the windswept coastal promenades of his hometown 30 miles north of Dublin during lockdown, Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten came up with a set of songs he felt too personal to realise within the democratic parameters of his band. An exercise in musical blood-letting, the songs on Chaos For The Fly share the intensity of Chatten’s day job, but they brood with a deeper melancholy that at times – as on the stark “All of the People” – borders on the misanthropic. With producer Dan Carey helping to sculpt a stripped back but atmospheric backdrop, Chatten’s poetic writing proves deeply affecting.
