Childqueen
Childqueen, the second album by the musical polymath Kadhja Bonet, is a marvel of string sections, gossamer vocals, and velvety R&B. Continuous listens have a meditative quality, as Bonet employs circuitous turns of phrase and layered instrumentals on the likes of “Procession,” a song that asks listeners to consider the restorative power of time, and the flute-forward “Joy.”
