Gucci has admired the Cash Money legend even before he got into the rap game, and B.G. witnessed Gucci’s ascent, becoming a fan of his Atlanta counterpart. B.G.’s career came to an abrupt halt in 2011 after being convicted of a firearm possession charge and sentenced to 14 years in prison. In 2023, he was released three years early and eager to pick up where he left off. Gucci Mane, having served his own nearly career-ending prison sentence, was eager to link up with his old hero to help him get back on his feet. The two of them sound in top form, pushing one another to deliver some of their best bars in recent memory and elevating the collective energy to new heights. In a recent interview, they note the surprising chemistry they developed despite not working together prior. This could be the birth of hip-hop’s newest dynamic duo.
