Drawing on radio sessions, standalone singles, covers and originals, the short album simply called Christmas didn’t seem like it would be anything more than a quick holiday indulgence from Low when they first released it themselves. But time has shown the album’s strength, with some of said original songs covered by everyone from Tracey Thorn to Kiki & Herb, while their cover of “Little Drummer Boy” famously ended up in a Gap ad, of all things. Also, points for “Just Like Christmas” being one of the best life-on-the-road songs ever.
