Come On Pilgrim

Released

While the debut EP by the Pixies ended up being a little overshadowed by the full-length landmarks soon to come, Come On Pilgrim still provides a solid taster for their focused mania. Reduced down from a 17 song demo tape to focus on what 4AD boss Ivo Watts-Russell thought would be the punchiest songs – though leaving off “Here Comes Your Man” for allegedly being too commercial – Come On Pilgrim kicks off with the kicky lope of “Caribou,” with other highlights including the soft/loud wackiness of “I’ve Been Tired” and the choppy punch of “Ed Is Dead.”
