In the 1970s, Johnny Clarke recorded hit after Jamaican hit, his sweet tenor voice nicely showcased — most often — by the legendary producer Bunny Lee and his house band the Aggrovators. This two-disc compilation from 2018 brings together much of Clarke’s classic material, including hit songs like “King in the Arena,” “Peace and Love in the Ghetto,” and, of course, “None Shall Escape the Judgement.” Several tracks are presented in “showcase” style, with their dub versions appended seamlessly onto the end of the original vocal version.
