Custodians of Human Succession
Released
Following the end of the band Taiwan Housing Project, Kilynn Lunsford worked on a solo debut that simultaneously matched the speak/sing tendency of much of early 2020s indie rock as such and carved out a distinct, uneasy and thoroughly gripping space all her own. Minimal but propulsive arrangements underpinned or wholly carried by electronic rhythms meet (often) treated solo or overdubbed vocals portraying often off-kilter scenarios. Highlights include “Tammy And Her Friends,” “Sewerland,” “Vessel Creep” and the punch of “North Sea Shrimps.”
