Dandy In The Underworld

Released

Dandy In the Underworld suffers somewhat from the weight of history of being the unintended final farewell from Marc Bolan on a full length front, though the single “Celebrate Summer” was released between Dandy and his tragic death in a car accident. While Dandy and his work in 1977 is sometimes described as his punk phase, it’s fairer to say that a cleaned-up Bolan was starting to lean into his veteran status with a new energy and focus, while the title track, a last majestic ballad, looks back at his hard-partying days with warm wit and his constant panache.
