Destroyer

Released

Coming off of the surprise success of Alive! adding to a growing mania for the group earned via their constant touring and increasing showmanship, Kiss went into the studio with 70s rock production superstar Bob Ezrin to see what could result. Destroyer, with its apocalyptic comic-book hero/villian superstar cover leading the way, was the band’s studio high point for the decade; if Kiss was all about simple but catchy anthems and often leering lyrics, everything from “Detroit Rock City”’s opening rampage to the fragile ballad “Beth” was a cinematic experience.
