Feminism never sounded so funky. Brian Wilson harmonizes on the title track opener and Stevie Wonder drops words of wisdom on love towards the end (Pharrell, Grimes and Zoë Kravitz appear too), but this is a Janelle Monáe masterwork from beginning to end. Pop-hook laden singles like the Prince-spirited “Pynk” and “Make Me Feel” serve well her overall Dirty Computer concepts of womanism, sexuality, gender fluidity and identity.
