Do You Want New Wave or Do You Want the Soft Pink Truth?

Released

For the second Soft Pink Truth album, Drew Daniel took his solo project into an intriguing new route that would often be explored in the future: reinterpretations of older artists in absolutely different ways from the source material. Drawing on hardcore and anarchopunk legends such as Minor Threat and Crass (whose “Do They Owe Us a Living?” was a title-perfect choice) to even sharper underground acts like Nervous Gender and L. Voag, Daniel and various guests transmogrified the originals into quirky, unsettlingly sung and performed house-derived bops.
