Eno Williams and her crew combine the fruits of Nigeria and London with Hot Chip producing. What they make reminds me of prime 90s dance pop like Ultra Naté and D-Mob, and makes clear that dance music is always the most forward-facing edge of pop, since the inclusion of non-Anglophone elements from Nigeria just seems like something you’ve always been able to find in house and disco.
