Engenderine
Released
A wholly solo recording that still feels like a series of live-in-studio sessions recorded over a couple of years – Baker is credited with all instruments, including drums – Engenderine finds the Nadja mainman in one of his moodiest, darkest modes, less on the crushing melancholic beauty side of things and more in a cryptic but compelling lane. Songs like “Resurrection of the Child Army” and “Plastic As An Emotion” flow with punctuations of long slow rumbles of feedback and tone, bursts of drum fills and cymbals, the occasionally serene moment here and there.
