Evening Star

Recorded
Released

This collaborative effort between King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp and Roxy Music keyboardist Brian Eno was released at about the same time as Eno’s groundbreaking Discreet Music, and in fact features one track that draws on material from that album. Evening Star consists of four tracks of quiet, sometimes breathtakingly beautiful guitar/synth duets, followed by a nearly 30-minute-long drone piece featuring layers of highly distorted guitar. It’s definitely more accessible than the duo’s previous No Pussyfooting project, but still quite eerie at moments.
