It’s almost ridiculous to say it but at the same time it’s strangely true that Wham!’s debut album Fantastic was practically a greatest hits album even before it was released, thanks to the instant UK star power of the duo and the previously released singles “Young Guns,” “Wham! Rap” and “Bad Boys.” All three were sparkling, immediately catchy examples of George Michael’s ear for pop hooks and a deep love for r’n’b, soul, disco and hip-hop, and then they went ahead and released “Club Tropicana,” a perfectly breezy bit of celebratory fun, as a fourth single in turn.
