Freed of the drum machines and synths on the title track, Roher takes his clean guitar sound into a kind of Ry Cooder territory. Then he pulls it back and makes what feels like a clean Harmonia record, flirting with reverb and delay techniques that will become huge in the Eighties. “Karusell” is one of the better post-Neu! tracks out there, and his benign take on things makes this sparkle.
