Foot of the Mountain

Released

A full sonic return to their period of amazing commercial success in the mid to late 1980s, Foot of the Mountain found the now established veteran act at a surprising new high; without pretending to reach for the level of “Take On Me” again, they deservedly scored both chart and critical praise. The title track in particular was a beautiful instance of their knack at songs that were at once moody and skybound, Morten Harket’s vocals now in a range of settled sweetness, while “Shadowside” was a lovely, steady ballad, another of their notable total.
