Further/Deeper cover

Further/Deeper

Released

Further/Deeper proved to be the most unexpected Church album in many years due to one key fact: Marty Willson-Piper, along with Steve Kilbey the only member to perform on every Church album to this point, essentially dropped out allegedly without telling anyone, leading to Powderfinger member Ian Haug taking his place. The change-up is relatively subtle – it’s still a majestic sounding later Church album – but there’s a little more guitar fireworks than before, and among the high points are the sweet “Laurel Canyon” and the moody, powerful closer “Miami.”
