Held on the Tips of Fingers
Released
This quintet is part of a lineage of meat and potatoes British jazz: well-played, unpretentious, technically killer. Not quite as inspired as Ray Russell but definitely good enough to make a mid-list mod sit down and listen, this is uncut musicality, and would slot in nicely next to David Murray and Henry Threadgill records from the late Eighties.
