Hotel Neon

Hotel Neon’s self-titled debut album in 2013 was the classic example of the debut that may be a touch in debt to many forebears – one can hear echoes of everyone from Aphex Twin to Labradford to Chihei Hatakeyama to Slowdive and more in the general realm of ambient drift and contemplation. But it still succeeds as an engaging beginning for the founding duo of brothers Andrew and Michael Tasselmyer, using guitars, processors and a computer to create quite lovely if darkly titled pieces such as “A Lament,” “The Crushing Weight” and “Deprivation.”
