In Rainbows
2007
XL Recordings
Having completed an initial contract with EMI and given solo and film projects and more, Radiohead struck out on a more irregular release schedule with In Rainbows, famously and at the time very unusually released via a pay-what-you-like download model. While in ways it did capture what was now a clear Radiohead ‘sound,’ from nervously unsettled electronic-leaning songs to haunted, stripped down ballads, In Rainbows helped set the band apart further from more arena-friendly followers in their wake, quietly observing uncertain presents and futures.
