Inspiration Information Vol. 1

Released

A true meeting of musical powerhouses, this album was the result of a trip to Jamaica by the legendary Detroit keyboardist and singer Amp Fiddler. Given that both he and the rhythm section Sly & Robbie were endlessly prolific collaborators, it’s hardly surprising that the sessions bore fruit fast, but even so the sense of spontaneous creation here is endlessly delightful. The funky influences of Curtis Mayfield and Amp’s old compadre George Clinton flow effortlessly into Sly & Robbie’s reggae influences and the whole thing sounds like it was as fun to make as it is to listen to.
