Portuguese techno artist David Henriques, aka Relapso, typically produces pounding techno tracks with drums so heavy they’re almost too aggressive to dance to — he’s released over two dozen four-track EPs, mostly on his own label with a few others scattered here and there. Iono, his second full-length album, has a somewhat conceptual structure; it seems to follow the life cycle of a nameless character from “Birth” to “Erasing Memories” and “Sheltering The Mind” to “Solitude.” The tracks run the gamut from the synthwave-indebted “Erasing Memories” to the almost industrial “Microvision” and the creepy, atmospheric “Solitude.”
