KMRU

2020
Seil Records

KMRU’s release for the Seil label in late 2020, perhaps in keeping with that imprint’s desire to make the world a more “optimistic place,” is one of his gentler, sweetly enveloping albums, where a sense of easy warmth and float is paramount above all else. Jar has the texture of pure ambient escape but, a couple of pieces aside like the drone-touched “note 43,” avoids lengthy contemplation for shorter tastes of sound. Such pieces like “ulmma” – even a less than two minute piece, “space of uncertainty” – provide a feeling of glimpses into somewhere else.
