Land of Sleeper cover

Not just notable for gaining media attention despite such an unwieldy name, Pigs x 7 coax an intriguing rumble from their Orange amplifiers. This sounder slops out more than just your typical post-Kyuss stoner sludge from behind the wall of sleep. Sure, they’ve been lost in the desert, but they draw just as much from more jagged doom like Melvins or noise rock raconteurs like [insert Steve Albini band here]. “The Weatherman” especially worships at the altar of the Jesus Lizard. That doesn’t mean they don’t know how to have fun down in the low end: “Ultimate Hammer” and “Pipe Down!” tap into the kind of barbarian horde momentum that makes High on Fire’s best material so thrilling. If this is a drug-induced slumber, it’s the kind where you dream you’re covered in centipedes — which is also what makes it so thrilling.
