A compact and luminous set of cues for Cecilia Aldorondo’s documentary on the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.  The film depicts both the devastation wrought by the storm and the political-economic crisis it brought to a head. Correspondingly, Negrón’s score evokes both the Puerto Rican landscape and a sense of human and political tension. The diversity of timbres and techniques she uses to accomplish this is noteworthy: ambient electronics, traditional  instruments, film-score neo-minimalism, strings. In its short 15 minutes, it achieves moments of real poignancy, especially in the movements “Propaganda llusa,” “Fàbricas,”and “Pescadoras.”
