Love and Rockets

Released

After Earth Sun Moon’s success building off “No New Tale To Tell,” it might not have seemed all that surprising if Love and Rockets had gone on to get a similar hit via their self-titled followup in 1989 — but when their thoroughly overt T. Rex nod “So Alive” turned into a smash top 3 single, probably nobody was more surprised than them. Love and Rockets is a fractured album to say the least, ranging from overdriven feedback blowouts like “Motorcycle” and “Bound For Hell” to the quieter “Rock and Roll Babylon” and “The Teardrop Collector,” but it’s all a fun listen.
