Maschinelles Lernen
Released
Combining analog electronics with weirdo rock influences, Telephone Exchange thrives in a sort of cultish sound that results in angular, melodic music. Relying on repetition, the lo-fi Maschinelles Lernen manages to provide some amazing songs with very interesting textures, as heard on the catchy garagey loop of “Poppies Biscuits,” the placid ‘60s balladry of “Plevna,” and the pastiche of “User Manual.” Closer “Machine Learning” exploits the motorik beat to their benefit, bringing some of the most interesting textures of the album.
