US singer/songwriter/producer/keyboardist Leon Ware’s Musical Massage is the result of Marvin Gaye taking all of Ware’s material to use on his I Want You album and Ware needing to write an entirely new album. So it’s not surprising that the sound and feel of Musical Massage are very similar to Marvin’s I Want You. It’s thick, sticky, sultry funk and soul, cinematic in scope and bold in vision. An undervalued and outstanding mid-seventies soul/funk epic.
