New Era 2022

A small but very active experimental music scene is emerging in Morocco — a country that is better known for its big, swanky EDM festivals — and raghoul, “non-hierarchical multi-disciplinary label exploring bass-rooted cultures” is one of its newest additions. Their fourth release is by Moroccan DJ, producer, and singer songwriter Gj Leith, (who contributed to the excellent 2022 compilation Tekchbila with footwork banger Who Dis) who on NEW ERA 2022 draws on bass and ghettotech styles from around the world, adding distorted vocals for am endearingly odd, psychedelic effect.
