Navigating the Kali Yuga vol 1

Released

As part of The Micronauts and solo, Parisian George Issakidis has been responsible for some of the gnarliest but most funked-up techno of the late 90s and 00s. But for this release he’s come completely untethered — from dance rhythms, and very possibly from material reality. These are lengthy (between five and 15 minute) synth explorations of inner and outer space, pulsing, warping, swerving around and constantly messing with your sense of time and scale. Despite the Hindu mysticism of the title, this is a million miles from any polite synth “yoga music”: it’s the absolute antidote to the overly-arranged burblings of way too many modular synth jams.
