Nostalghia - Song For Tarkovsky cover
Released

Pianist François Couturier struck gold with his Tarkovsky Quartet project, which opened its first door with Nostalghia. Counting cellist Anja Lechner, accordionist Jean-Louis Matinier, and saxophonist Jean-Marc Larché among the present company, he pays homage to Andrei Tarkovsky, further strengthening the ECM label’s bonds with the language of cinema. Although Couturier insists this is more of a concept album, it’s a no-brainer for fans of the Russian director, as for anyone who simply enjoys visually minded music played and recorded close to perfection.
