Okay Wow

Every record Daniel Romano has made post Mosey (of which there are many, and all of them worth your time) has been a joyous excursion into Dylanesque heartache and wonder. Many of these records were made alone, but many were made with The Outfit, a crackerjack backing band that ups the energy in any room they walk into. As both an introduction to Romano’s vast catalog and one of the best modern live albums, Ok Wow captures the Outfit banging out song after song of uptempo downbeat country punk. The words “rollicking,” “barnburner,” “really great,” and “cool” are words I’ve used to describe this record in the past and they are ones I believe hold true. Grip it and rip it.
