Polish Night Music

Partially growing out of Zebrowski’s work with Lynch during the filming of the latter’s Inland Empire in the mid 2000s, the 2007 release Polish Night Music is at once a quiet, slightly uneasy version of what could be called piano mood music and something of a recognizable addition to Lynch’s irregular musical oeuvre. Zebrowski’s playing is its own spare addition – he’s not trying to emulate regular Lynch partner Angelo Badalamenti at all – but the mix of soft tones, a sense of space and subtle field recordings invokes the sense of looming mystery Lynch is so fond of.
