That’s what makes songs like “Lucky” play as riveting disco-type melodrama while using cold, harsh electronics. This is music that reflects the internet culture that birthed it, but it also comments on it in the dehumanized pounding rhythms and autotuned vocals of “Femmebot.” “I Got It” provides a slinky, downtempo contrast to the relentless artificiality elsewhere on the album, but the consistent peaks across Pop 2 make it endlessly listenable.
